Royston Runners is a volunteer-led running club at the heart of Royston, Hertfordshire. To celebrate the club’s 40th Anniversary, I helped develop a new identity that reflects its proud heritage while setting a bold direction for the future. At the centre of this evolution is the Royston crow, the striking black-and-grey hooded crow once common in local pastures and still featured on the town’s coat of arms. Drawing inspiration from this emblem of heritage and place, the design process explored multiple interpretations of the crow before landing on a bold, modern mark. The result is a distinctive brand that embodies the energy, vibrancy, and community spirit of both the club and the town it represents.
